pretty fun

But the rage charged punch will always get you hit in the face. First round, shoot for the boob. Second round and third round, punch the face. The beating of the guy comes at regular intervals, so it's rather easy to get through it without getting hit once. Pretty lame to play, but funny nevertheless

Pretty OK

Pretty OK basic shooter with nice graphics. But for some reason the spacebar control doesn't work when using chrome. I had to come to firefox to play the game. This is something I noticed pretty often on Newgrounds actually. Please go and look at the methods you used, and find information on how to make them work on chrome. You can get expert advice on stackoverflow dot com.

jfike responds:

Jollesax. Thanx for the comments. You are correct. There is an issue with chrome. I haven't tracked down exactly what is happening yet, but chrome is the culprit I believe. It seems to be machine specific. The space bar control works on some computers running chrome but not others. It doesn't seem to be OS specific either. I'll repost when I solve the "chrome" issue.

Doesn't work under chrome

Game doesn't work on chrome, there is no control possible.

BlackCrossGames responds:

It works fine on chrome. Try updating your flash player.

Very good game

I agree with everybody else : The game is great, nicely executed, good graphics, nice sound (I don't find it boring, but I'm an old fart). I also agree with most of the extensions people suggested, like multiplayer, making a campaign mode with balanced maps, and so on.

Yet, I found some little bugs : sometimes there is a sea unit suddenly appearing at random on the map, and mostly on land. It is not an active unit, there is no soldiers linked to it, it doesn't move, it doesn't fight. It's just displayed there without doing anything. And when you reload the map, it's gone.

I've played the game now every evening since it came out, and I have the impression that sometimes there is something going wrong with the calculations in the fights too. Not often, but sometimes you or the computer beats a heavy unit with another heavy unit, but still has 99 soldiers left in that unit. Quite impossible if you ask me.

I noticed both a couple of times, but nowhere near often enough to really be disturbing. Still love playing it. And that's also what I'm going to do now.

Thanks!

The "ghost army" bug should be fixed now, thanks for pointing out. About problem with battle calculations, I haven't noticed anything like that yet...

Nicely done, but I hate popups.

Standubonnet responds:

popups have been taken out, it was a coding error.

Crashed my Firefox

I fill in a first name, a last name, an age, a gender, and click OK without selecting anything else. And there it goes. "Firefox crashed". I have tried a couple of times, and it happens every time.

I couldn't play the game, so I can't review or give stars, I'm sorry. I'll give you 5 stars with this review to not crash your score completely, as other people apparently liked it.

You should really look into that one. Let me know when the problem is solved, and I'll be happy to try again.

maxvm responds:

I don't know how to fix such a problem, because I can run it on Safari and Firefox without any trouble. Try playing the game on a different browser yourself and see what happens.

Epic!

Woohoow. what a trip. The defence game in itself is pretty basic, without an upgrade system and a limited (but nice) set of towers. But what a combination! It's amazing how well balanced the gameplay is. I love how you have to go for specific colore to buy specific towers.

Personally I think the difficulty is rightly balanced, another strong point. The graphics are good, the control flawless and the music not disturbing. So if it would be just a defence game, it would be a very decent one.

But it's not just a defence game. It's even not two games in one. It's a unique twist that gave me a whole new gaming experience

Keep em coming!

lazypeongames responds:

Thanks for playing! It seems like lots of players have enjoyed the combination of gameplay -- I give a lot of credit to Puzzle Quest, Puzzle Pirates, and Puzzle Fighter for introducing the idea of puzzle/other-game hybrids.

Keep an eye out for sequels or iPhone/iPod ports :)

nice start

Others have already suggested most of what I wanted to say. I did read the instructions, but I have to admit that was a pain! it would be nice to be able to scroll through them with the arrow keys. I also noticed that every new page that gets displayed, starts somewhere halfway. So you have to scroll up first to be able to read. Small things, but annoying.

Over-Kill responds:

Good ideas, thanks!

Very nice, but some flaws

The game itself is very nice (and cute). It's a fun idea, and every level adds to the fun by adding a new feature. The graphics are clean and nicely done.

However...
Somewhere in the fifth level I started getting problems with the game freezing once in a while for a split second. Sometimes this coincided with a yellow line being drawn over the screen. These are flaws that shouldn't be anymore in a game that is for the rest very nicely executed.

One strong minus is the adds in the game. I can bear them when you show the next level, but it's really annoying when you break the game to make people stare at the ads. If it wasn't to be able to write a review that makes sense, I would stop playing right there.
